The regulator outlet is adapted to the bottle shape at a 45° angle.
The connected hose lines therefore have no kink.

Regulators are designed to keep the outlet pressure constant within specified limits regardless of inlet pressure fluctuations and flow rate changes. Hose rupture safety devices have the task of shutting off the flow as soon as the nominal gas flow is exceeded within defined limits. Leakage tests perform the task of checking the consumption system for leaks before work is carried out. Regulators with integrated hose rupture protection and leakage test may be used below ground level.

Working condition
1. function
The cylinder valve is opened. Propane flows with the cylinder pressure through the regulator to the hose rupture protection. The regulator reduces the pressure to a working pressure of 1.5 or 4 bar. The hose rupture safety device closes because there is no back pressure in the hose. A bypass is released by pressing the button. The hose rupture protection is bypassed, the hose is slowly filled with gas. If the consumption system is tight (valve on the consumption device, hose and connections), a counterpressure is built up in the hose. The hose rupture safety device opens. In the case of small leaks, the build-up of counterpressure is not possible. After the hose rupture protection has opened, the operating state is reached.
2. start-up
  • Screw the RDS onto the cylinder valve of the 0.425, 3, 5, 11 or 33 kg propane cylinders. Tighten all connections gas-tight with the spanner.
  • Open the cylinder valve with the device valve closed. Press down the push button according to the length of the hose:
    Leak test for:
    2m hose = 8 sec
    4m hose = 15 sec
    6m hose = 20 sec

  • Open the device valve. If the consumption system is tight, the unit is ready for operation.
  • If the consumption system is leaking, no gas flows. Look for leakage and eliminate it. Then repeat the procedure.
3. operation with 2- or 3-way distributor
When operating with a distributor, each consumer unit must be checked individually. The respective distributor valve must be open, while all other valves must be closed.
4. interruption of work
First close the device valve and then the cylinder valve. When starting work, open the cylinder valve, then the appliance valve. If there is no gas flow, the consumption system is leaking.

Maintenance
Check the sealing washer in the screw connection on the inlet side of the RDS with combi connection for wear. The filter screw screwed in on the inlet side must be checked for dirt.unauthorised repairs and interventions are not permitted.
